Last weekend my Dad gave me the ultimate compliment: “Kiki, it looks like you’ve lost weight”. My dad, one of the most generous and caring people I know, is also honest. And while inside I was fist pumping and giving myself high fives, I said a polite thank you knowing that working my ass off for the last two months had been worth it.
I’ve always been the “I don’t go to the gym” type. I run, go to yoga, snowboard, etc. Anything where I don’t have to count reps and feel overwhelmed and inadequate around dumbbells and weight machines (I won’t even run on the treadmill). But I had reached a point where running and yoga weren’t enough and eating less wasn’t an option to get in better shape. It was as if my prayers were answered when I discovered that Nike had updated their Training Club app. I’ve been having a lot of conversations lately with people about how to get back on the bandwagon and I’m telling you, there’s an app for that. The Nike+ Training Club app will get you in shape leaving you with no excuses not to work out (sorry not sorry!). Here’s why:

Anyone can workout anywhere
Search and save workouts based on your strength and preferred level of intensity. You can also filter based on the amount of equipment you have from absolutely none to a full gym. This was key for me because I did not feel comfortable going to the gym when I started so I rolled out my mat in the “den” of my 700-square-foot-condo while Cooper, my dog, observed me suspiciously (he was likely also judging me for being so out of shape!).
You don’t need a lot of time
Workouts start at 15 minutes and go upwards so you have no excuse not to squeeze one in whether you’re getting home from work or on the road traveling.
It keeps records - you keep accountable
The app logs your workouts and congratulates you for hitting “total minute milestones” (everyone loves a pat on the back!). You can also add other workouts to keep track of your progress.
You will see results
At the end of the day, all that matters is that it works. I’ve continued running and going to yoga but I know these workouts are what’s made a difference in my clothes fitting better and those runs and yoga sessions a little bit easier.
